What is your plastic worth?

Rates follow the current Kampala recycler market. The school-fee value uses the same rate — two kilograms to a day.

kg
What should the value do?
Prep matters. Rinse, dry and flatten bottles. Clean PET fetches the full rate; wet or mixed loads are paid at the mixed rate.

Where to bring it

Four hubs, six days a week.

Every hub has a calibrated scale, a receipt book and someone who will sort with you if you are unsure.

What we take

Six streams, one price list.

We buy by weight and by type. Mixing streams drops the rate, so a minute of sorting at home is worth real money.

Before you come

  • Rinse and dry. A splash of water is fine; a bottle of old soda is not.
  • Flatten bottles to save space and bags.
  • Keep caps on or bag them — they are PP and sell separately.
  • Separate film from rigid plastic. Film is a different buyer.
  • No food waste, batteries or medical waste. We cannot take them.
Every load is weighed on a stamped scale, and you get a slip with the weight and rate before anything leaves the hub.

Free pickup

For households, shops, offices and schools with 20 kg or more. We confirm by phone the same day.

Collection or drop-off?

A landmark helps: “behind the mosque”, “next to the stage”.

A black bin bag holds roughly 8–10 kg of bottles.

Questions

Before you load the car

Is the pickup really free?

Yes, from 20 kg in the four divisions we serve. Below that the trip costs more than the plastic is worth, so we ask you to drop it at a hub.

Do I have to sort it myself?

No, but sorted loads earn more. We sort at the hub either way and show you the difference on the slip so you can decide next time.

What if the plastic is dirty?

We accept it at the mixed rate. Food waste, oil and paint containers are refused — they contaminate a whole bale and cost the programme money.

Can my school or office run a collection?

Yes. We supply bags, a monthly weigh-in and a certificate showing the fees your collection funded. Get in touch.
